Southern Harvest Soul Food is known for its creative twist on traditional Southern dishes. Nestled off Western Boulevard Southern Harvest has established itself as a restaurant that serves the hearts and souls of people, one plate at a time.
Terrance and Tameka Tallie, Mississippi natives, opened their restaurant in November of 2018. Since then it has been a never-ending adventure of success. Terrance served in the military for 21 years, retiring in May of 2020. During his deployment in 2018, Tameka received the calling to start this business (a long-time dream of Terrence's) and surprised him upon his return. Originally the Northstar Cafe, Tameka accepted the opportunity to serve her food as a one-time event and within two hours they made more money than a typical day for the cafe. The owner approached Tameka in October of 2018 and presented an offer to sell. Tameka was hesitant at first but was directed to follow this path and after that, everything fell into place.
As a family-run business, Southern Harvest provides an atmosphere that welcomes all. They offer dine-in, take-out (with a drive-thru), and catering. Just recently, they have expanded their services into a food truck that runs at events and on base for military personnel.
This Thanksgiving they will be open and serving the public a buffet all-you-can-eat experience. Their mission continues to bring the community together as often as they can.
